If your iPhone gets wet...
it can be fixed if...
If you have had the horrible misfortune of having your iPhone dropped in water and know the anguish of seeing all your valuable information get lost, including contacts, photos, music, text, ideas, etc in a second... breathe deeply, there may be a solution.
A two year old toddler, doesn´t have a clue of what this apparatus is and doesn´t have to know it. For my son the iPHone is one more toy, where he can see clips on You Tube, see pictures, listen to music and play, reason why I always get home he wants to sit with me and play with the iPhone.
But one day in his nasty but innocent mind he decided to take the iPhone to the bathroom and dip it in the toilet, rinse it and bring it back to me.
From that point on you can take things only two ways: positive and negative. I tried being positive and thought that fortunately the toilet was clean. Then I saw as the almost dead screen flickered as waving good-bye. Terrible!! I thought. Then I saw as it started dripping water.
I took the iPhone, tried to keep calm and layed it under the hair blower for few minutes on the sides on high speed and on the hottest setting, first on the speakers side and then on the headphone socket side, until it finally seemed dry and hot like an iron.
Only until the next day I decided to turn it on and for a few hours it would turn on and would turn off. Then finally after a few days, it would turn on but the touchscreen wouldn´t word. Finally I found someone here in Bogota, Colombia who fixed it.
Among the things he told me was that I would have lost it if that would have happened ni salt water. Many times corrosion acts much faster.
That I had taken too long in taking him the iPhone, chances of fixing it get slimmer as time goes by.
That the rate of iPhones that can be repaired due to water damage is 3 of every twenty.
That iPhones in shirt pockets close to the toilet aren´t a good idea, that trips to the beach and swimming pools aren´t either with an iPhone in your pocket.
In brief, keep calm, be careful with your iPhone, keep it away from water and always use a cover.
